Centering Facilitation Workshop
The magic of Centering stems from skillful and compassionate group facilitation. This engaging workshop—available online and in-person—prepares you to launch your first Centering group. Whether you have experience with facilitation or are just starting out, you will build confidence through skill-building and interactive learning activities and leave this workshop with a strong understanding of the Centering model.
Each cohort of learners will either meet virtually for multiple sessions or in-person for two days to practice facilitation and group management skills. You’ll learn proven Centering facilitation techniques such as mindful listening, strategic questioning and Acknowledge, Refer, Return (ARR) and have ample time to practice these techniques. You will also engage in important discussions around creating inclusive groups grounded in health equity. Participants will leave feeling ready to plan and lead their own Centering groups!
Topics
Together, we will walk through a sample Centering visit and explore the basic principles underlying the approach to CenteringPregnancy®, CenteringParenting® and CenteringHealthcare® group care:
- Essential Elements that define Centering
- Three components of group visits: Health assessment, interactive learning and community building
- Facilitative leadership
Audience

Participants who attend all of the virtual or in-person sessions will be prepared to lead both in-person and virtual Centering groups and will have taken their first step to becoming a Certified Centering Facilitator (CCF).
